Work gets underway on Townhead’s St James Residencies
Graham Construction has commenced ground works on site of St James Residences, a 422 bedroom student housing development in Townhead, Glasgow.

Composed of two interlocking ‘L’s shaped blocks the ICA Architects designed scheme rises on the site of a former office block with two ground floor commercial units at its base, including a small café and supermarket.

Clad in red brick and rising to nine storeys the scheme is intended to act as a ‘marker’ and ‘stop-end’ for access to the expanding educational campuses of Strathclyde University and the City of Glasgow College.

An entrance pend off St James Road will connect to an internal courtyard area connecting the wider campus with Cathedral Street Gardens.
