Windygoul Primary extension on track for August completion
Work to build an extension to the Carbon Trust Award winning Windygoul Primary School in Tranent, East Lothian, is on track for completion this August – the latest in a series of extensions to the 2007 build.

The £3.8m extension is clad in larch timber with sedum roof coverings and will offer a permanent teaching space to replace temporary classrooms currently on-site. This will see the school offer a total of 25 classrooms, a larger dining hall and additional multi-use and ancillary spaces.

Designed in-house by East Lothian Council’s capital projects team the build is being delivered by Morrison Construction on behalf of East Lothian Council and Hub South East Scotland.

The original Windygoul Primary is an acknowledged leader in the delivery of natural ventilation and minimal energy use with built-in control panels offering pupils the ability to monitor electricity usage.
