Strathclyde’s Jordanhill campus to be turned into housing
A 31 acre residential development in Jordanhill, Glasgow, is set to advance after the University of Strathclyde put its entire west end campus on the market.

Bidders are being invited to take ownership of the sprawling site which has the potential to accommodate up to 364 homes; including up to 71 apartments within the B-listed David Stow building and hundreds more houses within the site grounds.

This would see ancillary post war buildings demolished to make way for new housing although both Graham House and Douglas House may be suitable for conversion.

Nina Stobie, associate director of JLL, who are marketing the site: “This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for developers. Jordanhill Campus occupies a prime location in Glasgow and its elevated position offers exceptional views over the city.

“We expect interest in the site to be extremely high and not just limited to Scotland. Once transformed, it will be home to some of the most sought-after accommodation in the country.”

Gareth Hoskins Architects prepared a masterplan for the land in 2011 with planners indicating they are minded to grant planning in principle for the redevelopment.
