Edinburgh’s Haymarket development begins to rise
Above ground works to deliver a giant mixed-use project adjacent to Edinburgh’s redeveloped Haymarket Station have now begun as contractor’s progress preparatory works for the £200m development.

This process has seen engineers busy below ground strengthening Victorian railway tunnels which bisect the site to accommodate the increased load of a series of new buildings slated for completion by early 2017.

To mark the occasion Interserve and Tiger Developments, together with Richard Murphy Architects, have released fresh visualisations which indicate of the scale of the transformation the area will soon experience.

Interserve development director, David Westwater commented: “With excellent access to train, bus and tram networks, the benefits to potential occupiers are being increasingly recognised. We are looking forward to an exciting 2015 where we will see The Haymarket really start to take shape, and are anticipating that our first office occupiers could be in place as early as the first quarter of 2017.”

Office take-up reached its highest level in a decade last year.
