Sheppard Robson break ground on Inverness research hub
The University of the Highlands and Islands and Highlands and Islands Enterprise have commenced work on a 4,800sq/m joint Enterprise and Research Hub, part of the Inverness Campus.

Housing both agencies in two separate wings conjoined by a double height communications space the facility is intended to foster greater collaboration between research, teaching and business.

Incorporating front of house services, meeting rooms, social hub and informal meeting spaces the HIE office building will be clad in Nordic Blue Copper.

James Dick, partner with Sheppard Robson, said: “We wanted the architectural language to capture the ambition of a project - which brings together business, research and education - by creating a design that was unmistakably contemporary but still feels rooted within the landscape and community.”

The build is scheduled for completion next year.
