Architect makes hay with straw bale Morayshire home
Plans have been published by 1 Architects detailing their novel scheme for a Morayshire home and holiday lodge built predominantly from straw bales.

Situated in the vicinity of Pluscarden Abbey in Morayshire, the upland site offers expansive views to the Moray Firth.

In a statement 1 Architects said: “Commissioned by Phil and Allie Tomlinson, the house will provide a spacious home for their growing family and premises for their holiday lodge business. These separate functions are housed in two wings of the building that enclose a sheltered courtyard.”

Specialist support has come from Barbara Jones at Straw Works and Grant & Geoghegan planning consultants.

Construction will start in the spring.
