Great Western Road flats scheme completes
Elder & Cannon have completed work on a development of 49 apartments on a prominent gap site on Glasgow’s Great Western Road within the Woodlands Conservation Area.

The West End scheme incorporates ground floor retail space, landscaping and parking on a rectangular plot formerly occupied by a Rally Service Station and bounded on all sides by tenements.

In their design statement the architects describe the project as seeking to ‘provide a sensitive and appropriate response to context – while achieving its own contemporary qualities’.

The £4.2m scheme was funded by Crème Developments.

It's ok (I really like the back), but it could be anywhere. Doesn't exactly reference any local buildings (or even those next door) does it?
