Outline Glasgow Harbour hotel plans submitted
Clydeport has submitted indicative plans to build a 200 bedroom hotel at Yorkhill Quay at the former berth of the Glenlee Tall Ship.

The plans follow an earlier submission to build a whisky distillery and visitor centre on an adjacent plot which will also see an historic Pump House converted.

Designed by ADF Architects the scheme will fit into the wider Glasgow Harbour master plan and incorporates a setback to preserve existing down river views from the pump House and will entail infill of an existing dock.

Clydeport property director Euan Jamieson said: "Once we know the principle is established, we would look to secure an operator under the Peel Hotels banner and probably start on site in 2015.

"The target will be for a three star hotel plus which is similar to the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel next to the Finnieston Crane."

Breathtaking!

And the fact it overlooks the waterfront gardens in the Govan graving docks will mean the hotel guests will have a stunning view.

Breathtaking? Really?

The big blue blob is arguably more intriguing than what this is likely to become...

Is the ground floor a car showroom? There are cars inside! There are an awful lot of parking spaces outside too.
