Indicative AECC design unveiled
Henry Boot Developments have published indicative designs for a planned £200m replacement for the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre after their team, which includes SasanBell Architects, were named preferred development partner.

To be situated at Dyce, near the city’s airport, the mixed use development would provide additional exhibition and conference space alongside a four star hotel but is dependent on Scottish Government funding.

Henry Boot Developments managing director David Anderson added: “We are confident that we can deliver a state-of-the-art exhibition and conference centre to enable the city to build on its reputation as a major conference and exhibition venue.

“The economic benefits of the redevelopment project for Aberdeen will be significant and greatly enhance the status of the city as a regional centre.”

It is hoped to have the new centre built by 2017, pending the final go ahead from Aberdeen City Council.
