Fraserburgh Community and Sports Centre officially unveiled
Fraserburgh Community and Sport Centre is to be officially unveiled on Friday after opening to the public back in February.

Since opening the Centre has welcomed more than 95,000 people through its doors to take advantage of a range of facilities including a 25m pool, sports hall, fitness suite and pop-up library.

Aberdeenshire Council allocated £9m toward construction of the in-house design with a further £500k of sportscotland lottery funding and money raised by FISSH, a local community group, to pay for a 40m, flume.

Louise Martin CBE, Chair of sportscotland, said: “The Fraserburgh community is already benefitting from this fantastic new facility and will be wonderful to see it officially opened.

“sportscotland is committed to investing in facilities which encourage more people of all ages and abilities to take part in sport and physical activity, and this venue will certainly provide a range of opportunities for residents throughout the area.”
