University of Glasgow completes demolition of GUU extension
The University of Glasgow has completed the demolition of the former Glasgow University Union extension, clearing the way for construction of a new Stevenson-Hive building.

Designed by ECD Architects and Page\Park the £13.4m project will provide a new sport and leisure hub for the university alongside the existing GUU and Stevenson building.

The five storey, 45,000sq/ft, extension will plug directly into adjoining facilities to create a new sports hall, cardiovascular suite and weights training area.

Construction work is expected to get underway in September for completion by September 2014.
