Dem-Master commence Odeon demolition
Demolition work has commenced on a former Odeon cinema in Glasgow city centre to make way for a new ten storey office block designed by GMA|Ryder.

Bankrolled by Mountgrange and PRUPRIM the work involves retention of the art deco frontage and the demolition of auditoriums behind to make way for 143,000sq/f of retail and office space.

The developers believe that demolition of the cinema will make it easier to market the £29m property to prospective tenants and increase the likelihood of securing a pre-let, although in this they will be going head to head with 110 Queen Street.

Built in 1934 as the Paramount music hall the B-listed venue has played host to some of the greatest musicians of the past century.
