Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service to build Edinburgh HQ
The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is to progress plans to build a new £50m national HQ in Edinburgh.

To be built at the Heriot-Watt University Research Park at Riccarton the facility will incorporate labs, offices and other facilities and is intended to future proof the organisations work.

Pre-tendering is expected to get underway on 10 December when an official notice is scheduled to be published in the OJEU.

The service will be working with the Scottish Futures Trust to seek a firm to design, build, finance and maintain the building under a non-profit public private partnership.

A professional team comprising Keppie, Thomson Gray, Turner & Townsend and WSP have already developed outline proposals.
