Elder & Cannon designed student housing moves on site
June 11 2012
Strip out work has commenced on site of a new student accommodation block in Glasgow designed by Elder & Cannon.CCG Scotland have moved on site of the West Princes Street property to prepare the way for demolition of a former territorial army drill hall to make way for two new build blocks.
The £4m scheme will also entail conversion of the adjacent former Scottish Ballet HQ under plans originally submitted by NOAH City Developments and subsequently sold on to CCG.
These are intended to impart a more appropriate scale for the dense tenemental neighbourhood, bringing a derelict site back into productive use and introducing new external spaces.
Demolition is expected to take place in July.
