Aedas draw up Charlotte House plans

The project will maintain the existing form of a drab 60s block on Glasgow’s Queen Street by replacing concrete cladding panels with a mix of white and dark grey Kingspan panels and metal ‘fin’ overcladding.
Blue lighting will highlight the 13 storey tower and cap a five storey podium by night.
At present the office tower is largely vacant, with Gareth Hoskins Architects amongst the few remaining tenants.
The change of use application has been prepared by Ryden who contend that reactivating an under-utilised structure represents a sustainable means of boosting Glasgow’s city centre economy.
A Travelodge logo may be placed at high level
An existing retail frontage will be maintained

What a corker of a project, expertly presented and no doubt something that will be wonderfully realised by the skillful architects at Aedas. Glasgow should be proud.

That's a pity, when I saw that tower stripped back to the concrete it was clear that something spectacular could have been done with it.
