Buchanan Quarter site clearance progresses
Demolition work is progressing on a prominent mixed use site in Glasgow city centre, set to deliver ten retail units, a restaurant and 49 new homes with access to a roof garden - dubbed Buchanan Gardens.

Branded as the Buchanan Quarter the scheme sits on a prime pitch on Buchanan Street, Britain’s second biggest shopping thoroughfare outside Oxford Street, and includes a pedestrian connection through to a secondary frontage on West Nile Street.

Designed by BDP
the scheme will sport a blonde sandstone finish with zinc cladding, rising to a six storey “sail” detail which flairs out, slightly, between the second and fourth floors at the intersection of Bath and Buchanan Street.

Three retailers have already signed up to the scheme including Forever 21, Paperchase and Gap and Land Securities have pencilled in the £70m scheme for a Spring 2013 opening.
