New guide to Edinburgh’s post war listed buildings published
Historic Scotland in conjunction with the City of Edinburgh Council have published a new guide to Edinburgh’s ill appreciated post war architectural heritage.

Simply titled Edinburgh’s Post-War Listed Buildings the guide is intended to celebrate the rich diversity of the capital’s 20th century architecture through images and descriptions.

Recalling the boom period up to the 1970’s the book focuses upon the public sector commitment to forge a bold new world through the construction of new homes, schools, tower blocks and motorways.

There are currently around 230 listed buildings in Scotland built since 1945, nearly a quarter of which are in Edinburgh.
