Govan looks up as Broomloan Court comes down
Three redundant multi’s at Broomloan Court, Govan, are proving no match for Britain’s tallest demolition crane.

The 213ft crane towers above the 21 storey blocks and is slowly eating away at the concrete structures, floor by floor.

Coleman & Co have been appointed as contractors on the operation, the first tower block demolition of the new decade in Glasgow.

It won’t be the last either with the first of eight blocks being prepped for demolition to the north of the city, whilst two blocks at Plean Street to the west and a further two at Norfolk Court, Gorbals, also await their fate.

Rubble generated from the demolition process will be used as aggregate, in the local area where possible.
