Pride of Strathclyde

August 13 2009

Pride of Strathclyde
Strathclyde University’s £36m Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, designed by Sheppard Robson, has topped out on Cathedral Street.

Professor Graham Coombs, Head of the Institute said, “These new facilities will enable us to increase our activities in drug discovery.  They will also open up further opportunities for our industrial partners to work alongside our scientists.

“Our research will underpin drug development and help to bring treatments to patients quickly and safely, while our teaching is helping to produce the next generation of scientists for this vital work.”

The centre for drug development is on target to be up and running by 2011 after raising £4.9m of funding from philanthropic sources.
