Fresh lease of life for Dumfries and Stranraer
Scotland’s largest ongoing regeneration programme has been unveiled for Stranraer and Dumfries.

Some £77m will be spent demolishing 400 of the regions worst homes, replacing them with 500 affordable homes for rent and sale.

Whilst predominantly regenerating run down areas works will see some encroachment on greenfield land in the Lochside area of Dumfries.

The project forms part of the Scottish Government’s “Neighbourhood Renewal Programme” and was part financed by the local council and Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership, the second largest social landlord in Scotland.
