Avenel Plot 1

Avenel Plot 1
2009
The Avenel estate is situated a short distance from Kilmacolm.  It is a lush landscaped garden and woodland that is now an important local wildlife habitat which took over four decades to create.  Plot one is the first of six Arts and Crafts houses, inspired by Austin Laird's original Avenel design created in 1928.

The entire site extends to some eight acres.  Each house is situated on a generous plot and the location of each property has been carefully planned.  Natural contours and mature trees screen the properties from neighbours while southern and westerly exposures have been maximised to ensure that light floods into the homes.  Each household therefore benefits from a high degree of privacy, ample daylight and from views across the private gardens to the Renfrewshire hills beyond.
